Open Access Policy

The Journal of Transformative Praxis (JrTP) is committed to providing free and unrestricted access to all published content, ensuring the widest possible dissemination of scholarly research. This policy aligns with gold open access initiatives and supports the advancement of education and pedagogy research. All articles in JrTP are published under the  Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.


1. Open Access Commitment

Free Access: JrTP provides immediate, free access to all published articles, allowing readers to view, download, copy, distribute, and use the content for any lawful purpose, provided proper attribution is given to the authors and source.

No Fees for Readers: The journal does not charge libraries or readers for access to its content, enabling a barrier-free exchange of knowledge and ideas.

2. Open Access Options for Authors

JrTP operates under a fully open-access model, ensuring that all published research is freely accessible. Authors publishing in JrTP agree to:

Visibility: Articles are made accessible to a worldwide audience immediately upon publication, without subscription or payment barriers.

Reusability: Articles are published under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license, allowing maximum reuse and redistribution of the work while requiring attribution to the authors.

3. Funding and Costs

While JrTP does not charge article processing charges (APCs), authors are responsible for certain costs associated with manuscript preparation:

Language Editing: Manuscripts must meet high standards of English proficiency. Authors are encouraged to seek professional language editing from an accredited center at Kathmandu University School of Education, as the journal recommends.

Ethical Standards and Layout/Galley: Authors may incur costs for generative AI detection, plagiarism detection, formatting, copyediting, and reference checks. These costs vary depending on the manuscript length and the quality of the language.

JrTP does not receive external funding for its open-access model and relies on collaborative efforts to maintain its high-quality publication standards.

4. Archiving and Accessibility

JrTP ensures long-term accessibility and preservation of its content through multiple repositories:

  • Articles are archived in the National Library Center Nepal and EditorialPark, with additional backups stored on alternative servers.
  • In case of technical disruptions, alternate servers are activated, ensuring the website is operational within 12–24 hours.

6. Author Rights and Responsibilities
  • Authors retain the copyright of their work while granting JrTP the right to publish and distribute the content under the gold open-access model.
  • Authors must ensure their submissions comply with ethical and technical standards, including accurate citations, proper data handling, and adherence to open-access guidelines.
